The Department of Commerce and Investment is the central point for the coordination of resources and information for investors, entrepreneurs and developers seeking business opportunities in the Cayman Islands.

The department's mission is "to lead in promoting and facilitating appropriate long-term foreign and local investment in the Cayman Islands."

There are three clear objectives that guide our operations:

SME Development

To provide high quality business and economic development assistance to small businesses and prospective small businesses to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement in the sector.

Foreign Direct Investment

To attract the interest of foreign investors whose business interests are appropriate for the Cayman Islands and will foster development in the local economy through beneficial linkages.

Investment Climate

To research and monitor investment and commerce in the Cayman Islands to provide pertinent policy advice on ways to enhance the investment climate.
